Mister Chefer Electric Food Thermometer Review

What’s in the box

1 x Digital Food Thermometer
1 x User Manual
2 х AAA batteries
1 х Strap
1 x Gift box

This probe thermometer has a quick response time of around 4 seconds and an accuracy of +/- 1 degree in the temperature. Obviously both of these things are very important when you are cooking. The range of temperatures that it can measure with accuracy is between -58F to 572F (-50 C to 300 C). This should cover most items that you would want measure the temperature of.

The Mister Chefer has 4 buttons on the front which make it very easy to use, it has a on/off button, although the display will come on automatically when you open the probe and turn off when you close it fully. If you are busy and forget to close it up it will turn off after 10 minutes to save the batteries.

There is a temperature button which allows you to have the temperature displayed in Celsius or Fahrenheit depending on your preference, but at least if you are following a recipe you don’t need to try and convert it beforehand, just switch it over with the button.

There is a light button on the front too to backlight the display when it is difficult for you to see. This is very handy if the outside lighting is low or you are trying to work in a darker space.

Lastly there is a voice button, again if you can’t see very well or if you can’t insert the probe at an angle where you can read the display easily, you can press this button and it will speak the temperature to you.

This instant read thermometer can measure temperatures on a range of foods including steaks, BBQ and smoked meat; fish; turkey and chicken; side dishes; candies and sweets; beverages like beer, wine, milk or water.

The Mister Chefer digital thermometer has a lifetime warrant and a 100% money back guarantee, you can’t say fairer than that. It comes supplied with 2 x AAA batteries which are already installed just remove the tape before use. There are some basic temperature guides on the handle and some more in the box. It’s helpful when you can have a meat temperature guide that you can have printed for the kitchen. There is a wrist strap that can clip onto the end so it is easy to keep hold of your thermometer while you’re working and can also hang it up in the kitchen somewhere when you’re not. There are also some recipes included in the box.

This item doesn’t have a calibration option but most people like to check the accuracy by using it alongside another product that they trust or by testing it in a cup of iced water and a cup of boiling water as most people know what temperature to expect in these 2 situations, it should be within +/- 1 degree.

The probe and handle when extended is 10.6 inches in length giving a good distance for your hand to be away from the heat but it can be used at any angle up to the straightened full length and still show a reading. It’s not too large to hold comfortably and it’s easy to release the probe and snap it shut. The outside casing is made of strong plastic and should be able to handle continued use in a kitchen and the buttons are well spaced making them easy to press individually.

There are so many different types of digital thermometer out there, it’s hard to know what to choose. If you start with your price range and then decide what features you want it to have might help eliminate some from the search.

A lot of people find that they love a digital thermometer but the read out panel is either too small or not clear enough in different situations, a backlit display works well at those times and this thermometer can offer that option. The talking part seems a bit of a gimmick but it’s quite useful especially if you don’t want to get your face too close to the heat to read the display, even though the display only takes a couple of seconds to display. This Mister Chefer thermometer packs a few features into a small item and it is reasonably priced.
